The Aegean Sagas
Pelateia is the goddess of the ocean, of chance, and beauty. She is not a spiteful goddess, although she is capricious and willful, frequently sequestering herself beneath the seas to avoid the attentions of Odeus, which tends to incur his wrath.
She appears in the guise of a woman with unearthly beauty, eyes and hair of the deepest blue, her shapely figure clad in priceless silks and fabrics taken from shipwrecks.
Pelateia is noted for not taking part in the battle against the titans directly, as she only manipulated the seas to control their retreat to the north and to drown their followers, she has never taken up arms or armor and is viewed as weak by many warriors, although the navy and inveterate gamblers among the troops hold her in high esteem.
